Saka ruled out of England squad just one week before City-Arsenal showdown

Arsenal star Saka did not take part in England group training on Wednesday

Bukayo Saka has left the England camp in a blow to manager Gareth Southgate’s preparations for the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
‌Sources believe that Saka’s withdrawal is precautionary ahead of a vitally important run-in for Arsenal, who are fighting for the Premier League title and the Champions League.
Saka has been managing an Achilles issue and a minor muscle problem is thought to be the cause of his inability to train with Southgate’s squad this week, and the subsequent decision for the forward to miss England’s two games against Brazil on Saturday night and Belgium next Tuesday night.
‌But neither the Football Association nor Arsenal have confirmed the nature of Saka’s injury, which will raise fears ahead of the Gunners’ next Premier League game against title rivals Manchester City after the international break.
‌In a statement, the FA said: “Bukayo Saka has left the England camp and returned to his club for continued rehabilitation.
‌“The Arsenal forward reported to St. George’s Park with an injury and has been unable to participate in training.
‌“No further replacements are planned as a 25-man England squad continue their preparation for the forthcoming internationals with Brazil and Belgium.”
